CVS MinuteClinic: The answer during cough and cold season

We’ve all been there. It’s early morning and you wake up with a headache and stuffy nose, or a fever that appears overnight. From sneezes to scratchy throats, cold and flu symptoms are a leading cause of work and school absences. While your doctor’s office may be closed, and a trip to the ER isn’t necessary, medical care is needed as soon as possible. TeamCare can get you back on your feet with a visit to the nearest MinuteClinic, the walk-in medical clinic inside select CVS pharmacies and Target stores.

No appointment is necessary. MinuteClinics are staffed by certified family nurse practitioners and are open seven days a week, including evenings. You can even view current wait times and secure a place in line before leaving your house when you use the Clinic Locator at CVS.com.

When you arrive, simply present your TeamCare Medical ID card. There is no cost for the MinuteClinic office visit for covered services although lab fees and screenings may be billed separately. If additional lab work is necessary, be sure Quest Diagnostics is used so you receive full benefit coverage.

In addition to cough and cold season, MinuteClinics can:

  • Diagnose and treat minor injuries and illnesses like strep throat, earache,
    pink eye, and sinus infections
  • Provide common vaccinations for flu, pneumonia, and others
  • Treat patients 18 months and older for most services
  • Write prescriptions when appropriate
  • Share records with your primary care physician (at patient’s request)
