When it comes to the health of you and your family, vaccinations play a huge role in protection against serious disease. You already know the lifesaving benefits of immunizations to prevent measles, mumps, and tetanus, among others. But have you thought about getting a flu shot?

Flu season can start as early as October and complications can be life-threatening. Now is a great time to protect you and your family against illness and TeamCare offers two convenient ways to get vaccinated — all at no cost to you.

The easiest way to get a flu shot is at any of the convenient 54,300 in-network pharmacies, including CVS Pharmacy, Walgreens, Duane Reade, Rite Aid, and CVS MinuteClinic. Common vaccinations, including flu shots, are available at the pharmacy counter without an appointment. In addition, vaccinations like shingles, pneumonia, tetanus, hepatitis A and B, measles, and other ACA-preventative care vaccines, can also be done at our in-network pharmacies.

If you go to MinuteClinic, present your TeamCare Medical ID card during your visit. With in-network retail pharmacies, you must present your TeamCare Benefits ID card with the CVS/caremark logo at the time of service.

Of course, vaccinations like flu shots are also available through your in-network TeamCare doctor. As with any visit to your doctor, you will need to call ahead to make an appointment. To find an in-network TeamCare doctor, go to Find a Provider.

Note: State laws, clinical considerations, and age restrictions may vary by pharmacy and MinuteClinic, so call ahead to check which vaccines are available and can be administered locally.
